Time for a review of my 2023 Learning Roadmap. I will compare the goals from my New Year’s Resolutions and Technology Learning Roadmap 2023 with the actual results.

ChatGPT
I started to use ChatGPT with the subscription model. It is great to generate text for social media, to solve programming challenges and to write articles.
I used it to check and improve existing code as well. I love the integration of dall-e, to generate images for my articles.
github copilot
I also used github copilot to help writing articles and code It was way better than I expected.
I love the fact that it is integrated into the IDE. It’s like writing on steroids.
Cloud computing
I did not take the AWS cloud practitioner certificate test. I did not find the time to prepare for it.
The scope was a bit overwhelming
3D-Printing
Except for some Halloween thingies for my daughter I didn’t print much. I didn’t find the time and energy to fully assemble the MMU2S upgrade for my Prusa MK3S.
The Ankermake M5 was fun to assemble but it didn’t held up to my expectations. The timelapse feature wants as good as expected. The printer overall was nice but no big improvement over the Prusa.
BarCamps and Meetups
Creators BarCamp 2023 was a blast https://prestissimo-guitar.com/creators-barcamp-nurnberg-2023/
Nuremberg Digital didn’t vibe with me. I just visited a couple of talks and even left early.
that may be due to the fact that I was not in the mood for networking and eager for vacation at that time.
Seneca Camp 2023 was awesome. I went there with my apprentices and we had a blast.
I met a lot of old friends and made new ones.
BarCamp Regensburg 2023 was nice as always. I participated as bronze sponsor and gave a talk about apprenticeship in IT.
Due to private reasons I had to cancel my participation in the DevOps Camp 2023
Museums & Concerts
I visited the Hermann Oberth museum in Feucht with my daughter.

Music & Content Creation
I only wrote 18 articles for creatronix.de and no guest article. Thus I will drop the goal of guest articles for 2024 and reduce the number of articles to 30 for creatronix.de
But I made 30 YT Shorts and 31 long play videos for my YouTube channel (>10min) due to the fact that I bought a new camera the Sony a6400.
Sadly I didn’t record, mix and publish my song called Unbreakable
Books
As always I read less books than I wanted to. I read just a couple of books:
* The lives of Brian
* Besser fühlen
* 18 Minutes
Test drives
I did none of the planned test drives.
BMW did not response to my request for a testdrive with the i4 as well as Ford did not response to my request for a testdrive with the Mustang Mach-E either.
But I did a testdrive with a Tesla Model Y instead.
Bottom Line
2023 was a year of ups and downs. I had to deal with some personal issues and I had to cancel some of my plans.
I couldn’t live up to my own expectations.
But I also had a lot of fun with my family and friends.
I am grateful for the chance to participate in the creators barcamp and the Seneca Barcamp.
My 2024 won’t be as ambitious as 2023. I will focus on the essentials and try to be more mindful.
