How to stay healthy in a high stress environment

A short checklist to keep up with the stress in my daily work life:

Develop healthy habits

Read about the “aggregation of marginal gains” or the 1% rule here or here

Eat healthy

  • An apple a day keeps the doctor away
  • Drink more water -> place a motivational bottle in reach

Stay healthy

  • Wash hands after toilet
  • Avoid shaking hands

Stop Multitasking

  • Check Email only twice a day
  • Time blocking / Focus time / Pomodore
  • More breaks

Get more sleep

  • Set the alarm clock to tell you when to go to bed

Get better sleep

  • Stop watching TV after 10pm, instead read a nice book
  • If you have trouble falling asleep, try to listen to podcasts or music
  • Switch of all lights, close blinds, use a sleep mask
  • Apply the 10-3-2-1-0 Rule

Exercise more

  • Try a lunch break walk
  • Try Yoga
  • Instead of writing emails visit colleagues at their workplace


  • Try Headspace
